The Antzasti Cultural Association of Dima is a non-profit cultural organisation which provides an insight into the traditional rural life of Arratia and the urban modernity of Bilbao. Having consulted many professionals and experts in different fields, it was decided to open up its ethnographic heritage to the public. The objects on display all come from Arratia and Bilbao. In short, it shows the transformation following the scientific and industrial revolution that preceeded the technological era, in which we are immersed today. It was at the end of the 19th century and the dawn of the 20th century when these two different societies co-existed.
A cultural proposal that introduces visitors to traditional Basque life and modernity
This private initiative has taken years to come to fruition. It has involved a lifetime of collecting and immense restoration work, followed by in-depth research and cataloguing in order to produce a true and faithful image of this period of time. Undoubtedly, the unspoilt natural environment is the perfect setting for this project.
The altruistic contribution of family, friends and neighbours, along with the guidance of cultural experts has been essential in the development of the project. We would like to thank them all, as well as the local residents who have nurtured this natural environment.
